ECC Background

ECC was founded in 1999 as an IT services organization providing enterprise infrastructure operating system services, training and product development. The company provided technical and competitive marketing consulting for industry leaders including Microsoft, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, Sony, QWest and others. 

In 2005, ECC focused on the demands of IT security and regulatory compliance. Building their software solutions around Microsoft's System Center, ECC has emerged as a leader in providing security, reporting, archival and management solutions and services. The company and its principles are award winning security experts (including five time winners of Microsoft's Most Value Professional in security and Federal anti-terrorism commendations). With decades of collective experience, ECC subject matter experts have written best selling technology books and over 200 trade articles.

The Founders

Mark E. Walla - MSCE, CISSP

Mark Walla is a veteran of over a decade of technical management and project development. His areas of expertise include IT infrastructure, operating systems, networking, e-commerce and security. He served as Director of Professional Services at PDS Advanced Technologies, and has been the technical lead of a number of extensive UNIX, Windows NT, and networking projects. Additionally, Walla has consulted for Microsoft Corporation and Hewlett Packard; at Microsoft, he helped develop integration strategy and materials for the national tour Integration 97/98. While consulting for US West, he evaluated network management tools. At Bay Networks, he was the technical lead for sustaining released software and customer hot site issues. He was also a software engineer at Motorola, with software design and testing responsibilities. At Storage Technology, he was an embedded software engineer. He is the co-author of the Ultimate Windows 2000 Administration Guide (Addison Wesley 2000) and the Ultimate Windows Server 2003 System Administration Guide (Addison Wesley 2002). Walla is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), and holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Colorado. He was named by Microsoft Corporation as the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in the field of Security.

 

Robert Williams - PhD

Dr. Williams has over 20 years of senior-level IT management experience with companies ranging from start-ups to large technology firms and consultancies. He was also instrumental in recent anthrax terrorist attack crisis management and is active in continuing anti-terrorism efforts. Prior positions include being President of professional services organization PDS Advanced Technologies, President and founder of pioneering UNIX applications developer Decathlon Data Systems, a senior executive at UNISYS/System Development Corporation, and Dean of Research at the University of California, Los Angeles and California State Polytechnic University. A recognized technology expert, he was also the featured speaker in the international road shows sponsored by Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Compaq and Tech Data on UNIX and Windows NT interoperability. He is the co-author of the best selling The Ultimate Windows Server 2003 Administrator's Guide (Addison Wesley 2002), and other best selling books. Dr. Williams has a BA and MA from Whittier College, and a PhD from UCLA. He was repeatedly named by Microsoft Corporation as the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in the field of Security.
